Our Story
SaveRateAfrica was created to solve a real problem faced by the Nigerian diaspora. Nigerians living in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada send billions of dollars home each year. In 2024 alone, Nigeria received over $21 billion in remittances, with the United States (home to more than 2 million Nigerians) and the UK and Canada as the top sending countries (World Bank data).
Yet many still juggle multiple apps and websites to compare rates, often losing money to hidden fees and outdated exchange rates.
To change that, we built SaveRateAfrica as the one all-in-one platform that shows real-time comparisons across 14+ trusted providers, including Grey Finance, LemFi, Remistly, Sendwave, Wise, and others. We display exactly how much your loved ones will receive in Naira (updated live every 5 minutes) so you no longer need to switch between apps to find the best deal.
SaveRateAfrica does not process transfers or hold any funds. We simply provide independent, transparent side-by-side rankings that help you choose the option that puts the most money in your recipient’s pocket.
What started as a tool to solve my own problem has grown into a platform helping Nigerians in the USA, UK, and Canada send money home more efficiently.

I built SaveRateAfrica to empower fellow Nigerians in the diaspora with clear, real-time information on the best remittance options. With a background in Information Technology and a Master’s in IT Product Management, my goal is to make sending money home as cost-effective as possible.
